Migrant Employment Gaps Across European Destination Countries by Home Country

This dashboard shows migrant employment gaps across sixteen European destination countries, broken down by migrants’ home countries. A migrant employment gap is the difference between a migrant group’s employment rate and the employment rate of the native-born population. We do this to elucidate the association between cultural distance - mismatches in the norms, values, beliefs, and everyday practices between migrants' home and host countries - and migrant employment gaps, and how the strength of that association varies across contexts.

Observations accounting for less than 1000 migrants are excluded from the analyses to reduce noise in the measure of migrant employment gaps.
